About Me

“If you live a life of intention and purpose you will live the life you seek and deserve every moment of every day. I now live that life; that’s my desire for you and my motivation for becoming a coach and mentor.”

My Story

I lived a standard American Dad life in the suburbs. Grew up in Denver, above average student and track star in high school, joined the Air Force. I attended and graduated college following my honorable discharged in 1975. I received  a Geology degree in 1979 and started a job with a large oilfield service company.  I got married, had three kids and bought a house in the ‘burbs. Church, Cub Scouts, soccer, baseball, track.  All boxes checked!  I had, what appeared to be a successful career, a happy family, friends yet I struggled to find fulfillment, satisfaction, happiness. I began to question.

I wasn’t happy at work, I wasn’t happy at home. Sure we lived in a nice home, had nice cars, were active in the community, raised three beautiful children and had all of the bells and whistles. I was a successful Corporate Vice President wining and dining with executives and making great money with stock options. Then it all crumbled and fell apart. I lost my job, I lost my wife, I lost my family, I lost my friends and I lost my money. All my own doing. I found myself in a one bedroom condo, by myself. And worst of all feeling that I had failed, and had no purpose nor meaning. Needless to say it was a dark and lonely time.

And it was the best thing that could have happened to me! As John O’Donohue, an Irish poet, author, priest , and philosopher once said, One of the greatest sins is a life unlived.” It was clear to me that this was the life I was living. And it wasn’t the life I wanted to live!

Today I am in a wonderful relationship with a woman that is truly my ‘Twin Flame’. I am surrounded by people that truly care and support me. My life has meaning and purpose. I don’t have the money I once did, but we live a very comfortable, wonderful life.  I am happy and have found meaning and purpose.

It wasn’t an easy journey; it never is. It took a lot of difficult reflection and coming to terms with the consequences of my actions. This introspection continues and will continue as the journey has just begun. The growth has been amazing! I study, I read, I meditate, I do for others now.

In sharing my story, I hope to inspire and help others find their purpose, to understand their meaning.

As a professional coach I possess the talents, techniques, and skills to support my clients in making the right changes in their lives with greater ease and lasting effectiveness. I honor my clients as experts in their life and work, and believe every client is creative, resourceful, and whole.

WHY SHOULD I CONSIDER COACHING?

Coaching can provide a transformational life experience. Clients who employ coaching have reported improved communication, increased productivity, improved work-life balance, better self-esteem and self-confidence, and optimized performance. If you are seeking any of these results, coaching may be for you.

IS COACHING THE SAME THING AS THERAPY?

No. Therapists are experts in medical and behavioral sciences trained to treat diagnosable conditions. Coaches use questions and reflection to highlight their client’s strengths and areas in need of development and then help the client uncover their own wisdom and solutions. Coaches use personal disclosure as a tool to catalyze and challenge their clients.

HOW LONG DOES THE ENTIRE PROCESS TAKE?

That depends on you and what you would like to accomplish. Coaching is a process, not an overnight fix. It takes time to build an understanding and get to know each other, which is the basis for a successful coaching program. My coaching programs are normally a minimum of three months with 2-4 sessions per month. Coaching may go on for as long as a year or even longer with as little as one session per month. Coaching has magical potential to transform people to a higher potential in both life and career.

WHAT IS A DISCOVERY CALL?

That is a chance for us to meet and start to know each other. I will learn a little about you and what your goals are for the coaching program as well as your goals in life. You will learn a little about me in order to determine whether I’m the right coach for you and whether we are a good fit.

WHAT IS A COACHING SESSION LIKE?

Sessions are short, anywhere from 45-60 minutes. It is an informal meeting between the coach and the client (‘coachee’) with coach asking thought-provoking questions around a discussion lead by the coachee. It is always the coachees agenda that is the topic of the day. It’s all about you!

IS COACHING THE SAME AS CONSULTING?

Not exactly. Consultants advise their clients about how to solve problems. Coaches guide their clients to their own solutions. Consultants are focused on results. Coaches are focused on people. Consultants are hired to produce a particular outcome. Coaches are hired to support the client as they achieve a certain outcome.

HOW MUCH DOES COACHING COST?

Again, that depends on you, how long we work together and your goals. Monthly costs may be as low as $500 or up to $1500, depending on what you wish to accomplish and your commitment to the process.

IS COACHING WORTH IT?

That’s a question only you can answer. Studies have shown that clients receive a 5-7 times return on their investment. 96% of the people that have undertaken a coaching program would repeat the process and 99% have indicated that they were satisfied to very satisfied with the process. See #1!
